The timing wasn't great for New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski's media tour for "Madden NFL 16."

He and New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham are the two finalists to be on the cover of the video game. And what else could be going on with the NFL in mid-May that would cause some uncomfortable moments during interviews promoting the cover vote?

 Oh, right.

So Gronkowski and Beckham got on the SportsCenter set and, go figure, the anchors wanted to ask about deflate-gate, Tom Brady and the punishments for Brady and the New England Patriots.

Gronkowski isn't exactly an orator, and he couldn't flex away the questions live on set. That made for some awkward television with a guy who obviously didn't want to talk about it...More

The premiere of Season 7 of The Real Housewives of New York brought with it the return of Bethenny Frankel and loud cheers from all those who missed her during her three-season hiatus. Despite that, Bethenny ended the episode with a tearful breakdown. “I want a new life,” she wailed to her realtor, who coincidentally is also a Bravo reality star, from Million Dollar Listing.

She also offered to be her friend’s surrogate, on one condition: “Just let me share the kid.” As it turns out, the source of Bethenny’s breakdown is her tick-tock-ticking biological clock; she laments that her fertility is on its “last legs” and even if she could conceive, “I don’t even have a place to live!” Sounds like someone’s found her storyline for the season! Congrats, lady. Source

President Barack Obama exchanged emails with Hillary Clinton on her private, nongovernmental account while she was serving as secretary of state, the White House said Monday. But he did not know that she used a private system exclusively for government business, press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.

Obama “did, over the course of his first several years in office, trade emails with the secretary of state,” Earnest said. “I would not describe the number of emails as large, but they did have the occasion to email one another.”

Obama told CBS in an interview broadcast over the weekend that he found out that Clinton had set up and maintained a private system that she used for official business “the same time everybody else learned it through news reports.”

“The point that the president was making is not that he didn’t know Secretary Clinton’s email address — he did,” Earnest said. “But he was not aware of the details of how that email address and that server had been set up, or how Secretary Clinton and her team were planning to comply with the Federal Records Act.”

That information, first disclosed by the New York Times, has raised questions about whether Clinton’s messages to other senior officials were secure and whether she used the arrangement to withhold messages that would normally be archived for potential future public release....More

The U.S. Army commander of the joint task force during Hurricane Katrina says Brian Williams’ story about seeing a dead body float by his New Orleans hotel room during the 2005 storm is “suspect.”

Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré told CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday that the flooding around Williams’ hotel — the Ritz-Carlton — at the time the NBC News anchor said he saw the body float by would likely not have been high enough, as there was relatively little flooding in the French Quarter, the area where Williams was staying.

“It would be very suspect,” Honoré said. “But anything’s possible.”

Honoré said while it was possible Williams saw a dead body float by, it was unlikely because the water was “well below knee level around the Ritz-Carlton.”

The retired general also said if Williams did see a dead body, he should’ve reported it to authorities or tried to help the victim.

“If he was a newsman and saw a body floating by his hotel, why didn’t he go grab it? Why didn’t he get somebody and report it?” Honoré wondered. “Either report it — which you’re supposed to do — or as a human being go out and try to assist that person or get somebody.”

Williams also said his hotel was “overrun with gangs,” an assertion Honoré said was never corroborated.

Honoré’s comments come as stories Williams told on and off air are under intense scrutiny after the “NBC Nightly News” anchor admitted last week he embellished his experience in Iraq, where he said a helicopter he had been traveling in during a 2003 sandstorm came under fire....More

NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was charged on Thursday with five criminal counts stemming from a lengthy corruption investigation, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said.

The political powerbroker, in the Assembly since 1977 and its most influential Democrat as speaker since 1994, was accused of fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud and other charges in using his "power and influence" to obtain "millions" in bribes and kickbacks, the criminal complaint said. Source

DENVER – The narratives about Peyton Manning failing in the playoffs yet again feel different this time.

This wasn’t Manning, not as we’ve known him since he came into the NFL in 1998.

Maybe Sunday’s 24-13 divisional-round loss to the Indianapolis Colts was it for Manning. After a game in which Manning struggled to throw the ball – that was a theme for most of the second half of the season – he couldn’t say if he would return for another season with the Denver Broncos.

“Uh, yeah, I guess I just can’t give that simple answer,” Manning said. “I can’t say that. I could not say that.”

This isn't how Manning wanted to go out, and it’s certainly not how the Broncos envisioned this postseason going.

Manning said he wasn’t hurt. He said he suffered a thigh injury against San Diego on Dec. 14, but that’s the only injury he had and he felt good coming into Sunday’s game.

Maybe he’s just a 38-year-old quarterback with multiple neck surgeries on his medical record. Time catches up with all athletes. As great as Manning has been, he won’t be an exception to that.

The Broncos told us a while ago that Manning wasn’t the same quarterback he was a year ago. In the second half of the season the Broncos built their offense around running back C.J. Anderson. You don’t do that if Manning, who had arguably the greatest season for a quarterback in NFL history in 2013, was at his peak. They knew....More
