Kim Kardashian caught plenty of flack this week (as tends to happen to a rich girl who got super famous thanks to a reality show she got after making a sex tape) for a remark she made in a recent interview with the U.K.’s The Guardian. In it, the 31-year-old made a comment many construed as comparing her struggles (televising her wedding, splitting from the groom 72 days later) to … the struggles of someone with cancer? We at omg! weren’t convinced that’s what she actually meant by the statement, but you can decide for yourself. Here’s what she said in the interview, addressing the topic of whether she felt pressure to televise her wedding for her reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians": "Not really. We [were] done filming our season at that point, so we decided to film for the wedding. And that was a decision that he and I made together. But I think that, with any decisions in life, like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She's 18. And I was like, that's how I feel." Dozens of media outlets picked up the story, running catchy headlines such as “Did Kim Kardashian compare her televised wedding to cancer?” and the like.
