Lohan Skips Rehab, Violates Court Ordered Probation

The Los Angeles Times reports that Lindsay Lohan violated her probation by leaving Morningside Recovery on Thursday, where she was to begin 90 days of court-ordered treatment. Deputy Santa Monica city attorney Terry White said that he learned Lohan spent just a few minutes at the Orange County rehab facility before leaving. "Ms. Lohan is in violation of her probation, that much is clear," said White, who added he didn't know Lohan's whereabouts.

 Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that she left the facility because "she felt Morningside was not suitable for her. There were too many paparazzi everywhere and she didn't feel safe. Nobody close to her is happy about this. They think she's really not being smart."

 Where in the world is Lindsay Lohan?

 On Thursday morning, Lohan's attorney Mark Heller told L.A. Superior Court Judge James Dabney that his client was currently checked into rehab at Morningside Recovery in Newport Beach, California, and that therapy "is under immediate commencement." However, according to multiple reports, Lohan is not in rehab (SplashNews even photographed the troubled starlet shopping at a Southern California electronics store).

 The New York Daily News claims the "Mean Girls" actress is currently on her way to LAX to catch a flight back to New York City.

 "If there's credible confirmation she's heading back to New York, then I'm going to have to go in and ask the court to issue a warrant,” Deputy Santa Monica City Attorney Terry White told the publication.

 Michael Lohan has confirmed to Radar Online that his daughter already left Morningside: “I have no other choice than to get this out there to help Lindsay.” More

Reese is Legally Blond & Busted for DUI

Reese Witherspoon and husband Jim Toth were arrested over the weekend in a DUI-related incident in Atlanta, Ga. Variety reports that the Oscar-winning actress and CAA agent, who was operating the vehicle, were pulled over early Friday morning after a cop noticed the car driving in the wrong lane.

 According to a police report obtained by Variety, "Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe I was a real police officer. I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet."

 The report continued: "Mrs. Witherspoon asked, 'Do you know my name?' I answered, 'No, I don't need to know your name.' I then added, 'Right now.' Mrs. Witherspoon stated, 'You're about to find out who I am.'... Mrs. Witherspoon also stated, 'You're going to be on national news.' I advised Mrs. Witherspoon that was fine." More

Seymour Walks Down Divorce Aisle for 4th Time

Jane Seymour's marriage -- her fourth -- is over. After 20 years together, the British actress, 62, and actor-director husband James Keach have split, they announced Friday, April 12. "Jane Seymour and James Keach confirm that they are separated and have been for several months," the couple said in a statement to Us Weekly. "At this time they are negotiating the terms of their divorce."

Seymour wed American-born, twice-divorced Keach, 65 (who directed the star in her smash TV show Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) in 1993, and they share twin sons John and Kristopher, 17. 'Do You Know the Way to Bankruptcy?' Dionne Broke

It costs a lot to be Dionne Warwick. The “Do You Know the Way to San Jose” songstress filed for bankruptcy through a federal court in her home state of New Jersey last week, claiming that while she brings in nearly $21,000 in monthly income, she spends all but $10 of it on expenses.
The documents also state that she only has $25,500 in assets and owes more than $10 million to the IRS. The need to file for bankruptcy, Warwick’s publicist Kevin Sasaki said in a statement sent to omg!, was thanks to “negligent and gross financial mismanagement” during several consecutive years in the 1980s and 1990s.

Though the actual overdue back taxes have been paid, according to Sasaki, Warwick owes the mind-blowing amount in accrued penalties and interest.

“In light of the magnitude of her tax liabilities, Warwick has repeatedly attempted to offer re-payment plans and proposals to the IRS and the California Franchise Tax Board for taxes owed. These plans were not accepted, resulting in escalating interest and penalties,” continued Sasaki.

Los Angeles-based bankruptcy attorney David L. Neale, who isn’t involved with Warwick’s case, but has studied her filing, tells omg! that it’s very likely the singer could walk away with a clean slate, since her tax obligations reach so far back that they would most likely be considered dischargable. Though other parties she owes could ostensibly sue her for payment, of the $10.72 million Warwick’s filing states she owes to creditors, only about $500,000 is owed to parties other than the IRS

Will Octomom Face 8 Counts of Welfare Fraud?

Did Octomom commit fraud? On March 20, TMZ reported that Octomom Nadya Suleman, is being investigated by the L.A. County Dept. of Welfare Fraud Prevention and Investigation after someone made a claim that she made too much money last year to have collected government money.

 According to the report, Octomom could go to prison for up to 3 years. Sources claim that Suleman raked in about $200,000 in 2012, which would be too much money to collect food stamps or other forms of welfare. According to the law in Calif., Suleman would have needed to make under $119,000 to be eligible for welfare.

 An Octomom fraud case is now open and according to TMZ, people close to the mom of fourteen have already been interviewed by the WFP&I. It is unknown whether or not she has been directly contacted just yet, but if there is enough evidence to prove that she collected welfare when she shouldn't have, you can bet that she'll be prosecuted.

 This is just the latest "Octomom problem." She has lost her house, filed for bankruptcy, and faced lawsuits since giving birth to her octuplets who are now 4. Nadya Suleman became "famous" after giving birth to eight children at once -- after already having six children at home -- and her decision was no mistake. Octomom underwent IVF to get pregnant with one more baby... but she ended up with eight more, causing her financial strife.

 Although Nadya Suleman "goes away" for months at a time when it comes to celebrity gossip, her name always seems to pop back up in the news. Whether she's stripping for cash or setting up donation websites, Suleman's main claim to fame is money, or lack there of.

Ex-Cardinal Defends His Record of Pedophile Cover-ups

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Retired Roman Catholic Cardinal Roger Mahony defended his tattered legacy in a sharply worded letter to his successor, a day after Archbishop Jose Gomez stripped him of his administrative duties and bowed to a court order to release thousands of pages of confidential files on sexually abusive priests.

 In a letter posted Friday on his personal blog, Mahony challenged Gomez for publicly shaming him and said he developed policies to safeguard children after taking over in 1985, despite being unequipped to deal with the molester priests he inherited.

Mahony had apologized two weeks ago after another release of similar files showed he and other top aides worked behind the scenes to protect the church from the growing scandal, keep offending clerics out of state and prevent public disclosure of sex crimes committed by priests.

Gomez was well aware when he took over in 2011 of the steps Mahony had taken to develop better clergy sex abuse policies and never questioned his leadership until Thursday, Mahony wrote.

"Unfortunately, I cannot return now to the 1980s and reverse actions and decisions made then. But when I retired as the active archbishop, I handed over to you an archdiocese that was second to none in protecting children and youth," Mahony wrote.

The letter was remarkable because it revealed infighting between two highly placed church leaders when members of the Roman Catholic hierarchy rarely break ranks publicly, said the Rev. Thomas Doyle, a canon lawyer who worked for the Vatican's Washington, D.C., embassy who also has served as an expert witness for victims in clerical abuse cases....More
