In retrospect, it seems like someone should have said something sooner.
Brandy was secretly slated to be the surprise grand finale at the Nelson Mandela Sports and Culture Day, but since fans had no idea the singer would be the final act at the end of a packed schedule, almost all of them had left the building by the time she stepped on stage. Oops.
To put it in perspective, the FNB stadium in Soweto, South Africa, holds 90,000 guests and had been packed the entire day. When Brandy came out for her big moment, however, only 40 people remained. Oh, and reportedly, the lights were on (which was probably one of the reasons guests thought this shindig was done).
"Brandy performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on," local musician Kabomo tweeted.
Other event-goers shared Kabomo's shock. Twitter user Crazy Girl Tutu (how we love that name), shared, "I gave up the min I saw the empty stadium. Brandy performing for the chairs!"...More

On Sunday at the PGA Championship, everyone knew that Tiger Woods would not be winning his 15th major championship. Coming in off one of his best performances since he was snagging majors five years ago, Woods was the hot story and the obvious pick, but his four days at Oak Hill were a reminder that despite how he dominates the regular PGA Tour events all season, it's the majors that continue to flummox the No. 1 player in the world.
Woods shot a round of even-par 70 on Sunday, never giving up despite a bogey-double bogey finish to his front nine and the fact that when that driver comes out of the bag, our guess is as good as his to where it will end up.
Tiger shot a back nine 32, never giving up and grinding as hard as he could, especially over the last two holes when he couldn't be more out of position. Woods grabbed his back after a tee shot on the par-5 13th, but continued to go after tee shots and try to dig irons out of the rough, a testament to just how much this man cares about always shooting one shot better if possible.
But the real story here isn't his play at Oak Hill, but his play at all the majors. Last month I wrote a piece defending Tiger's play, pointing out that a T-6 at a major is a pretty incredible accomplishment considering he had has B game at Muirfield. This week isn't as defensible. Woods simply should have played better at the PGA, coming in off a big win at Firestone in which it seemed all parts of his game were clicking.
This isn't a swing problem or a club issue, it's all mental. The space between Tiger's ears that used to be so invincible seems to get rattled when it's major championship week, and no matter if the course is dry and fast or soft and wet or tree lined or wind-swept, it's the same story for the man with 14 majors....More

Tara Reid has proven that just starring in a movie called "Sharknado" does not make her an expert on sea life.
The 37-year-old actress made that clear when she went on Discovery's Shark Week talk show "Shark After Dark" last night. She told the host, "Today I was like, all right, I don't want to, like, really sound stupid when I do this show today, like... so I learned a little education on sharks."
She added, "So I look up 'sharks' on the Internet and I see 'whale sharks,' so I'm like, that must mean that a whale and a shark have sex. And then I think, 'Well, how do a whale and a shark have sex?'"
To the sounds of a snickering audience, she was asked, "Was there a video of it?" Reid said, "No, there is a thing called whale sharks, and then I realized whales are mammals and sharks are animals, so they have nothing to do with each other."
She continued, "So basically the dolphins have sex with each other, but the sharks don't, so I thought, 'How is it such a thing?' But the difference is, there is a whale shark, which is the biggest shark in the ocean — he's also scary — and then you have the great white, who's also scary. There are over 400 kinds of sharks, but the whale shark is kind of interesting because he's not so mean."
If you're confused, so were her co-hosts.
As one pointed out, there's also a tiger shark — and that is not a literal meeting of tiger and shark. And neither is the whale shark....More
